FourSquare

During class this week we will begin discussing the use of location-based social media and how brands are successfully using these tools to further their marketing efforts.  You know I love an infographic and here's a great one about FourSquare and who's using this network.

Do you FourSquare?

  1. I don't use foursquare because it slightly creeps me out. I don't like knowing that everyone knows where I am at all times and when I'll be out of my house so they can come rob me!

  2. I LOVE foursquare. You don't have to show people where you are. Foursquare gives you the option to link up your Facebook and Twitter accounts to post where you are, but like I said it is an option. You can also add friends so they can see where you are, but just like linking your accounts you can shut off that feature too.

  3. I don't remember if this was ever asked but do you use any LBS, Heidi? How do you feel about them? I feel like I probably would use them if I didn't already feel overwhelmed by all of the different social media/online functions in general I currently engage in.

  4. I know Heidi, uses Foursquare, we are friends! And I love how she said she doesn't understand the competition part of it, but what she didn't say is that she always has a ton of points!

  5. @Kevin - I started using Foursquare when we got to this portion of the class. My "smartphone" is not an iPhone or Droid so there is no easy app to use. Have to use mobile web each time and it's cumbersome.
@Devon - I have points because I go a lot places and most of my friends on FSQ don't go to the same places.
I was really bummed not to get the Foursquare Day badge last Saturday. Totally forgot and we didn't do much all day.
